At the beginning of May 2020, I decided to do the song a day challenge after seeing that a IG friend of mine was doing it. I’d never done any music challenges before on my Instagram.
I googled a song a day and I found the graphic below. I chose it because I liked the song prompts.
I believe I had a good variety of the music that I liked. I feel as all the songs represented me in different ways. I liked how some of the prompts forced me to think about how a song made me feel. It demonstrated the power behind music and how it affects me personally.
Many of the songs were easy picks from my liked songs list on Spotify that includes over 1,000 songs, however other prompts required a little more research.
For the prompts that included a year, I learned when some music released which I thought was cool. I had no clue that Lauren Hill’s Song, Doo Wop thing was released in 1998 which is the year I was born.
One thing I would improve on is posting everyday sometimes I would miss days but I would go back catch up and post the days that I missed.
I would encourage anyone to do the song a day challenge because it makes for good content and it helps you explore your music taste.
Overall, I enjoyed doing this challenge. It was satisfying simply because I got to listen to so many of my favorite songs. I have my Spotify Playlist on repeat.
